Alexander County Water Corporation was incorporated on June 21, 1963. The first water left our water plant in March of 1965 and we billed our first customers in May of 1965. We had 291 customers at that time.
On January 6, 1999 Alexander County Water Corporation changed its name to Energy United Water Corporation, and today we bill approximately 8,600 customers.
Energy United water Corporation employs fifteen full-time and two part-time employees, who operate and maintain five water storage tanks, four pump stations and over four hundred miles of water lines.
Energy United Water Corporation is under contract with The Town of Taylorsville to provide maintenance and assists in emergency situations.
Energy United Water Corporation shut down operation of its water plant on March 29, 2006 and began purchasing all of our water from The City of Newton, we then sell the purchased water at wholesale prices to Iredell Water, The Town of Taylorsville, and The City of Troutman.
